How to install modules that have no compatible release, but have a patch

When migrating Drupal websites, it happens that a module has no release that is compatible with the Drupal version, but has a patch that makes it compatible.

Unfortunately, even if patching is active, composer will refuse to install the module

I found the lenient composer plugin, maybe it will work. Still need to test it:
